4 trout (ready to cook, with skin and head, each 350 grams)

1 lemon (juice)

1 bunch Dill (or sassafras)

Preparation steps

Rinse the fish, pat dry, season inside and outside with salt and pepper, drizzle with lemon juice and brush with oil. Fill the fish full with dill or sassafras.

Butter the wooden sticks, thread the fish onto the poles beginning at the mouth and stick in the ground about 30 cm (approximately 12 inches) from the embers. (They also can be held in hand around a campfire.) The cooking time depends on size, 20 to 30 minutes. Periodically turn the sticks over and brush the fish with oil. Serve with potato salad if desired.
