The classic French vinaigrette consists of about two thirds oil and is therefore rightly considered to be quite rich. That it tastes just as good with less fat is shown by the low-fat vinaigrette, in which part of the oil is replaced by aromatically boiled orange juice.

Shaking in the screw-on jar not only makes preparing the salad dressing particularly quick and easy - it can also be stored in the same jar in the refrigerator. There it stays fresh for at least 1 week. If you want to save even more calories and time, you can use cooled tea instead of the boiled orange juice. You can also vary the mustard, how about a mango mustard, for example?

1 Small pot, 1 Measuring cups, 1 Tablespoon, 1 Whisk, 1 canning jar (or preserving jar, about 150 ml capacity)

Preparation steps

Squeeze juice from oranges. Bring 175 ml (approximately 3/4 cup) of juice to a boil in a small pot over medium heat until the liquid has reduced to about 1/3.

Stir in mustard and balsamic vinegar and season with salt and pepper.

While whisking, slowly drizzle in olive oil until combined.
